[Hida Region] 35th Hirayu Otaki Ice Festival

Hirayu Otaki, one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls (64m high, 6m wide).
The powerful waterfall transforms into a giant icicle with the arrival of the severe winter in late December.
The majestic sight is illuminated, creating a fantastic world on winter nights.
During the day, you can also experience the beauty of nature with the contrast of the grand ice pillars and the snow.
The suspension bridge over the Otakigawa River is also decorated with illuminations, creating an even more fantastic landscape.

Snow Fireworks

Date: February 15 (Sat) - 25 (Tue), every day during the event period
Launch Location: Around Hirayu Onsen Ski Resort
Time: Around 20:30
(May be canceled due to bad weather or the launch time may vary depending on weather conditions.)
Content: Fireworks will be launched in the clear air and under the starry sky.
The best view is from within the ski resort.

Nukutomari Bazaar

Date: February 15 (Sat) - 25 (Tue), every day during the event period
Location: Hirayu Otaki Bazaar Venue
Time: 19:00 - 21:00
Content: Zenzai, Amazake, Taruzake (free)

Free Shuttle Bus Service

Period: February 15 (Sat) - 25 (Tue), every day during the event period
Location: Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal ⇔ Ankiya Mae Ice Festival Venue Entrance
Content: A dedicated shuttle bus (free) will operate between Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal and Ankiya during the illumination time.
※ Departure from Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal: First bus at 18:50, last bus at 20:15
Departure from Ankiya Mae: Last bus at 21:15
※ It takes about 25 minutes on foot from Ankiya Mae Ice Festival Entrance to the Otaki Venue.
