In the table of "Components, Quantity, and Composition per 1kg of Sample (Hot Spring Water)" in the hot spring analysis report, unfamiliar units such as millibar and millibar% are used to indicate values. Although "millibar" and "millibar%" are often not found in unit dictionaries, they are important units commonly used in hot spring analysis.
A millibar (mval) is a unit that represents the concentration of ion species dissolved in 1kg of a solution such as hot spring water, and it is one-thousandth of a unit called a val (val).
1 millibar is 1 mg equivalent/kg, and the value of millibar can be calculated using the following formula.

The ratio of the millibar value of a certain cation or anion to the millibar value of all cations or all anions is the millibar%.
